End of an Era

Dear Members and Friends of CMA,

December 31, 2020 will mark the end of an era here at CMA, as the board has made the decision to cease operations and shut down the ministry. While this may come as a surprise to some and you may wonder if COVID had anything to do with the decision, the truth of the matter is that this has been in the works for several years now.

As most of you know, I retired from my day job with Seeba & Associates last year with plans to continue serving part-time at CMA for a few more years before fading off into the sunset. But with the continued growth and development of such resources as the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, Church Law & Tax, Christianity Today, among others, and the ability to simply “google” pertinent information on business and compliance issues from multiple sources, you now have at your fingertips webinars and information on virtually any topic of interest to your ministry. Had COVID not come along and restricted our ability to gather together we might have extended our run for another year or two. But as people began to make greater use of these virtual resources it became clear that this was the year to close down.

Over the next few months our plan is to keep the website and our email addresses operational while we complete the process of shutting down the corporation. So, you may want to take advantage of that time to check out our Store for any resources that may be helpful. And yes, as I am able, I will still be available to answer questions and assist you with issues that may come up during that time as well. But after March 30, 2021, everything will be completely shut down.

It’s been a great run and I’ve had a blast serving you and your ministries! I never would have imagined back in 1989 when I first joined CMA, that 31 years later I would still be around. But all things must come to an end at some point and the timing works out pretty well for Pam and me as we are finding new opportunities to be involved in our local church and the lives of our kids and grandchildren.

Our prayer for you, going forward, is that God will give direction, insight, and cause each of your ministries to flourish as you serve Him!
